Most test takers plan their preparation by section. Speaking on Monday, Reading on Tuesday. It feels organized. The problem is that PTE does not score by section. It scores by task, and a single task can feed two skills at once. Since the August 2025 update<\/strong>, that mapping changed for several tasks, so a plan built on the old logic sends practice time to the wrong place.<\/p>\n

This guide lays out the current PTE marks distribution task by task, verified against the Pearson PTE Academic Score Guide<\/a>, so you can practice on a PTE full-length mock test knowing exactly which response feeds which score.<\/p>\n
